Don't waste your time with this place if you have an RV any older than 2000. You will not be allowed to stay. Even if it has been remodeled and painted, they will not even entertain the idea.
not 5 stars because of how close together the sites are for campers. i have been places that are cheaper that have more space between camp/cabin sites. they should seriously bulldoze every-other 'pad' to give guests more space
I really wanted to like this place, especially because the staff are very nice and accommodating. My issue is with the actual campsite. If you have an RV or camper, you are good. If you tent camp, it is terrible. The camp sites are in the woods away from the lake. There is standing water all around the site. It's like camping in a swamp, meaning extremely high humidity to the point its difficult to sleep and the mosquitos eat you alive. As soon as you cross the road to the RV area, it's comfortable and possibly worth staying, but in the end I had to go back to the tent site. It rained one night and one of the tents got flooded out. It is literally camping in a swamp. My kids were miserable and even though i paid for 3 full nights, we are leaving to stay at a hotel to wash all the swamp, layers of bug spray and discomfort off so we can get one good night of sleep. Obviously priority goes to the big spenders with the RVs but tent camping is an afterthought and out of the question.
Nice, clean campground. "Free fishing " lake. Quiet stop, but a little out of the way. Friendly staff.
nice and relaxing place to spend a couple of days:) we rented one of the cabins and were amazed at how much it was like home away from home. 2 bedrooms, pullout couch, full kitchen, dining room, and living room. just a great way to spend a vacation!!!! :D
Had a great time! Cabin was roomy, clean, and furniture was nice. Plenty of dishes and silverware. Several suggestions, none of which would keep me from coming back. We did enjoy ourselves. 1) a wall clock in the sitting room would be nice. 2) a full length mirror inside bedroom or bathroom door. 3) a lamp of some kind so don't have to use bright over head lights. We had a good time even without the suggestions. Definitely plan to come back.
